Archaeologists Find Clues to Viking Mystery

For years, researchers have puzzled over why Viking descendents abandoned Greenland in the late 15th century. But archaeologists now believe that economic and identity issues, rather than starvation and disease, drove them back to their ancestral homes.

    Greenland had natives who were able to survive off the land, however for the Vikings they had to use native technology or import more advanced technology. They didn’t appear to want to use native technology and to import technology they needed trade goods which they could no longer produce. This is sounding like the United States killing off manufacturing in the name of the green movement.
